In The Shadow Of His Cross

In the shadow of Your cross, may I never hide Lord.
Rather, help me live for You and tell others of Your word.

It’s so easy to stay silent, when I should speak out for You.
Fearing others’ thoughts of me, if I thus to You be true.

Like the disciples of old at Your crucifixion.
Worried what others might think, if I tell them of God’s Son.

Why should I be so concerned, knowing Your example?
If I truly believe Your word, its guarantee is ample.

Let me then resolve today never to keep silent.
When each chance comes to me, may I tell others to repent.

Jesus Christ came here to save all who will Him believe.
We know for certain then they will His saving grace receive.
